Movie Review: Toilet - Ek Prem Katha

Toilet, the name itself is little annoying, but it starts to feel much annoying if we think of a movie with this name. As the name suggest, the movie discuss lake of sanitary facilities in India. According to a survey report, about 70 percent of people do not have proper access to toilets.
Now we might start to put all allegations on the account of government, but as this movie highlights, the issues lies with the people themselves. They didn't want to have toilets and most importantly they didn't want to change for betterment.

Initially, I felt really awkward to see people using fields for urinating and defecation. specially women, who had to get up early morning for this process, when masses are slept. Most of the time, these women had their privacy for granted, since any by-passer could see them.
But these same women were mentally entrapped in the slavery of their culture because they did not want change and also their spouses had no issue as long as this toilet was kept away from the boundaries of the house.

The movie shows, how Akshay Kumar, son of hindu Pandit(Religious Monk) fights against the religious rituals of Hinduism based on false beliefs. His father, who was staunch follower of his religion, also considered having a toilet inside home as a taboo. for them, having a toilet inside home was simply the matter of violating the religious dogmas.

I believe, there should be more movies like this to enlighten the people
