Facebook Rolls out Messenger app for Kids under 12

The leading, Social media website, Facebook has introduced a facebook messenger application for kids under 12 years.  The application is projected to foster the communication and interactivity among the kids, under parental supervision. The application, for now, is only available in the United States on the test basis.

The kids can use the application to video chat each other, which also includes few attractive features such as; free video chat live stickers and all this will happen under the strict supervision of parents, since the parents can control the contact list of their progeny.

There is an ardent need for a messenger app, which can connect the kids and that too under parents surveillance, said product manager, Loren Cheng. The application is targeted for children between 6 to 12 years. The leading social media website said that it aims to eliminate the problem of children going social on messaging apps without any safeguards.

The application has rolled out, following the uprising trend of 93 percent of children, having access to tablets or smartphones.
