3 Fun Facts about Terra Cotta Army


Terra Cotta Army can be listed as one of the massive creations of human beings. These clay sculptures were built by the founder of Qin Dynasty, Qin Shi Huang. He created these sculptures to accompany him during his eternal life. However, there are few fun facts, which enhances it's importance to a significant level. 

1. The Mausoleum is not yet completely discovered

The Mausoleum is so massive that archaeologists have not even completely discovered it. Up to now, only 8000 Terra Cotta soldiers are found and only 20 Square-mile compound is uncovered. these sculptures are seemed to be divided into four pits; first pit contains about 6000 terra cotta soldiers, second pit contains infantry and cavalry and third one contains, sculptures of their high ranking officers while the last one is empty.

2. Each Terra Cotta soldiers have Distinctive facial features

This fact makes it more interesting to know that, all of these clay soldiers has unique thing that facial feature one terra cotta soldiers differs completely from another. The studies shows that each of these terra cotta soldiers were crafted on real soldiers of Qin's Army. 

4. Soldiers were placed according to their Real Ranks

These soldiers were not placed randomly, rather all of them were placed in mausoleum according to their real ranks. However, another pit was dedicated to the sculpture of higher ranked soldiers.
